- Hey don't be worry we are just going to the doctors for an appointment.
- Hey I get to miss school, thank god it was english class
- Why do I need to go, I'm not sick or have any pain.
- School for me is something I struggle with. We all have a major challenge, for me it is words. Vocabulary, papers, and writing. In general, they have always been a struggle for me. Even though I'm a hard worker, I still seem to be the last person to turn in my homework and tests.
- Yes, can Carter do the Reading Test First?
- Hello Katie and Carter. I'm here to help with the testing. What test would you want to do first?
- What Reading test?
- The Doctor took me into a different room to do a reading test and a writing test. For the Reading test I would be timed to see how fast I can read a page of grade level reading requirements. Afterwards, we did a writing test where I had to spell out some words. Some of the words were easy, then there were some I had no idea how to spell.
- Is this even a real word?
- Ummmmmmmm?
- Carter could you spell the word narcissistic?
- Why am I reading this book?
- To me when I see a book I see a marathon with words that are obstacles that I have to jump, to climb up a mountain of sentence structures. When I was little I used to try to get out of as much reading as possible or wait for someone else to read it.
- What is mom going to make for dinner?
- What is a simile?
- How many pages are left?

- Your test results will be sent over in the next few days.
- Did I pass the test?
- I have always struggled with reading and writing about things I didn't know about and even if knew what we were doing I still had this mental block in my head about getting my ideas on paper.
- You know what you are trying to say dummy...put it on the paper.
- When I cant get my thoughts on paper I just sit there waiting for the thoughts to come out.
