- Banquo and Macbeth come across the witches. The witches tells Macbeth his future that he will be king. He believes them as his first prophecy comes through

- Macbeth kills King Duncan in the castle but loses his mind right before he does so
- Act 5 scene5
- Macbeth sees apparition of Banquo's ghost and loses control of himself. Lady Macbeth tries to hide him from exposure but fails to do so. Macbeths downfall.
- Act 5 scene8
- Malcolm and Macduff meet in England. they join an allegiance and Ross bring the news that Macbeth has slaughtered Macduff's family. Macduff vows revenge and he and Macbeth prepare to launch an army against Macbeth
