Part 4: Offering the Cyclops' Wine.
Odysseus took some of his men to look around the island with him. They come across an abandoned cave, or so they thought was abandoned till they walk inside. They saw things like lots of cheese, and milk from the flock of goats and sheep the Cyclops' owns. The Cyclops' comes back to his cave to see the men making themselves at home.
Part 5: Blinding the Cyclops'.
The men tell the Cyclops' that they come in peace and that he should respect the Gods. The Cyclops' did not believe this or like it so he tries to trick the men. Then the Cyclops ate some of the men and trapped the rest inside his cave.
Part 6: Escape.
It was morning and the Cyclop's had let his flock out to graze the grass. Odysseus then came up with a plan, he used the club that the Cyclop's carried and trimmed it down to a point. Later he then gave the Cyclop's a bowl of wine to make him fall asleep.
Odysseus told the Cyclops' that his name was Nobody, The Cyclops then fell asleep, and Odysseus with the help of his men stabbed the Cyclops' and blinded him. The Cyclops' then screamed so loud to where the neighbors heard and came to his ade. They asked if he was ok, and he answered," Nobody, my friends, is trying to kill me by violence or treachery"(Homer 5). This tricked the neighbors to believe that no one is hurting him.
Odysseus had then come up with a plan to escape the cave and get him and his men to safety. Odysseus and his men had strapped themselves under the sheep as they were let out of the cave. They had escaped and made it back to their ship before the Cyclops' had caught them.
