  • Hi. My name is Oliver Bloggs. I'm a serial entrepreneur. My dream is to one day create a Radically Successful Business like Google or Facebook.
  • Once upon a time, I was launching businesses while using a traditional business plan. But, nearly all those businesses went bankrupt. The one business that succeeded did not follow its business plan. I concluded that a business plan is useless for managing the development of startups. So, a few years ago, I started using a one-page Business Model Canvas.
  • The Business Model Canvas was great for summarizing stages in the evolution of my business model but it lacked "blocks" especially for documenting customer problems, preferences, product features, and key metrics. Unlike in the Lean Canvas, the Business Model Canvas was focused more on generally documenting an existing business model than on continuously discovering and solving customer problems.
  • The Lean Canvas was really fantastic. It was aligned with key ideas and principles of the Lean Startup method. However, I found it hard to visually relate to the Lean Canvas Eric Ries's ideas and processes such as "Build-Measure-Learn" Feedback Loop, Innovation Accounting, and Validated Learning. Also, like in the Business Model Canvas, the Lean Canvas seems to present a "Laundry List" of business model parts rather than an organized dynamic system of how a business model works.

  • Wow! The Lean Canvas Storyboard saved my business and marriage. The Lean Canvas Storyboard was better organized and visually related to Eric Ries's Lean Startup Method. By getting out of the building, I quickly discovered a Big Urgent Market Problem. Thereafter, I achieved Product-Market fit in no time. Now, I'm using the Lean Canvas Storyboard to systematically scale my business. Once again, I have hopes of realizing my dream of creating a Radically Successful Business Model.
