- In this scene of chapter one Ponyboy, the one in the way front, gets jumped by four Soc's. Ponyboy was walking and he hears a vehicle approach behind him. He looks back and they are out of their car, saying "You need a haircut greaser?". They attacked him and pinned him to the ground. Ponyboy was shouting for Soda Pop and Darry. Finally, someone shows up, it was Darry. He helped him Ponyboy and took him back home.
- In this scene of chapter 2, Dally, Two-Bit, Jonny, and Ponyboy all went to the drive in movies. Once they are there they meet 2 Soc's, Cherry, and Maurice. Dally started being a jerk and flirting with Cherry but with a not very attractive way. Cherry gets handed the coke that Dally gave her, but she ends up dumping it on him.
- In this scene of chapter 3, Ponyboy comes home late because he got caught up talking to Jonny. He knows that Darry will be furious with him coming home late. Darry claims that he was going to call the cops and was worried sick. Darry looses control and decides to hit Ponyboy across the face. Ponyboy runs away and Darry feels so so bad.
