- (2)You might think that but farms can be bad for the soil causing Tillage Erosion, where the soil is too loosened and can be more easily eroded.
- (1)This looks like fantastic dirt...I mean soil.

- (2)Water effects the soil in a couple ways. It can erode the shoreline and wash away the soil.

- (4)Farmers have to be careful to not over irrigate their crops, it can cause chemicals to leach into water supplies, and wash the nutrients out of the soil

- (2)You're right, Over grazing causes the soil to be compacted, and the plants cant grow as fast as they are being eaten, this leaves the soil vulnerable to erosion too!

- (1)Wow! So What can the farmers do to help the soil?
- (2) Well there is a few things. They can conservation Tillage, where they don't cultivate the soil every year.
- (2)Hmmm, well they could have less livestock n their pasture lands so they don't get over grazed.

- (1)Thats Right! There are many ways they can protect the soil, they can plant trees as shelter for the crops, or rotate the types of crop they plant.
