  • Victor ending his work
  • Victor dumping the remains of his project
  • The death of Henry
  • I picked this scene because I think it is very important to the story. Victor finally decided that there was no way he was going to create another monster because he did not want anything bad to happen. Although he was scared of what the monster might do, he knew that creating another monster could cause more harm. He stopped all his work and left the place where he first started creating this female creature.
  • Victor's father arrives at the jail
  • I picked this scene because it shows that Victor is finally making somewhat of the right choice. He decided that he should no longer create another monster and that he needs to end/get rid of all of his work. Victor takes the remains of his half-created creature and dumps them in the sea so that it will all be forgotten about. He then sails away, in hopes to make it home safely.
  • Letter from Elizabeth
  • I picked this scene because it has a huge effect on Victor. He had no idea that the monster would go out and kill Henry and now everyone is blaming him for the murder, even though he is clearly traumatized by what he is seeing. This death led Victor to be so sick that he almost died. He starts blaming himself for all the deaths that occurred because of the monster, and he wishes he would've died with the sickness so he wouldn't have to face that it is all his fault.
  • The cottage
  • I picked this scene because it led Victor to become better. Victor was very sick in the jail and was almost going insane. Mr. Kirwin informed Victor that someone wanted to visit him, and he freaked out because he thought it was going to be the monster. Once Victor found out it was his father, he was relieved. His father ultimately helped Victor get better because he had someone that he could trust and talk too.
  • I picked this scene because it plays into the feelings of Victor and Elizabeth and their relationship. On the way to Switzerland, Victor received a letter from Elizabeth. The letter talked about how much she missed Victor and how she felt bad for all that he has had to go through. Elizabeth talked about how much she loved Victor and that she could not wait for their wedding day. All Victor could think about was the monster saying he would see him on his wedding night. Victor wanted to be happy but was scared to see what was coming.
  • I picked the scene because it makes the story suspenseful. Victor and Elizabeth traveled to a cottage to stay the night. Victor described how pretty the mountains and area was. Elizabeth was glad the wedding finally took place and that everything was going well. But as soon as Victor stepped foot on the land where they were staying, and said he instantly felt all his fears grasp onto him. This is where the chapter ends which left a lot of questions about why he was so scared.
