  • "Wait. You guys misunderstood. The atom is a mostly empty space with negatively charged electrons revolving around the small positive charged nucleus in the center of the atom. I have proof of this because I performed an experiment in 1911 called the alpha scattering experiment. I probed the inside of the atom by aiming a small beam of positively charged particles called alpha particles at gold foil. I saw that 1 in 8,000 particles bounced off of the gold foil but most went straight through. This shows that Thomson is wrong by saying atoms are cloud like because some of the alpha particles bounced off which shoes that there is a small positively charged nucleus in an atom."

  • "My model of an atom is that electrons orbit the nucleus instead of getting pulled into it because they have energy. The more energy the electrons have, the further they are from the nucleus. Electrons go in circular pathways around the nucleus, they are held in place by protons. There are orbitals."

  • "Rutherford didn't cover everything, like where the electrons are and how they are stable. I'm going to explain the frequency of light and the gaps in the hydrogen spectrum. The energy of an electron is quantized, meaning it can only be stable in certain positions. This is why falling electrons only give off certain frequencies of light, each color represents a energy. The energy is being given by the electrons falling back to the nucleus. When an electrons absorbs energy, it jumps to a higher energy level farther from the nucleus. The electron will eventually fall back down to a lower energy and give off the excess energy as light."

  • "Bohr had a great idea, but he only explained this model for Hydrogen so I will explain my equation for the rest. Electrons are waves. This is why only waves of specific energies provide solutions to equations. My equation is able to find out the quantization of electron energies. My model of an atom is that they are waves of energy's that most probably will be found within orbitals and space."
