- I am absorbed by a plant during photosynthesis. The plant is then consumed by a land animal.

- When the animal dies its body decays and becomes a part of the soil.
- Atmosphere
- I travel along the river in the soil and join a layer of sediment. After millions of years, multiple layers of sediments gather above me and the sediment around becomes compressed and heats up.
- The compressed and heated sediments form natural gas and petroleum. When it is extracted from the earth I happen to leak out and escape back into the atmosphere.
- After millions of years and an exciting adventure, I return home
