The Irish were desperate for food, moving from place to place, begging for anything edible. Years pass, but the deaths don't stop, Ireland plummets into an all-time low, economically and socially. The year is 1847, known as the Black 47, due to how much death occurred during this year.
Oh Lord! Have mercy on our souls!
Though the deaths were relatively high, the British government did try to help, setting up soup kitchens which barely costed a penny to feed the poor, which did help the situation slightly. The starving Irish also immigrated to other countries to escape the famine, such as the Americas.
Even my mother is dead! This is horrible...I must sneak onto on of the ships to go to somewhere else...I won't survive here much longer

Over the course of the famine, Britain replaced their prime minister from Robert Peel to Sir John Russel, who did also try to help the Ireland crisis. On a side note, in 1845-the year the famine started-Robert Peel ordered a secret purchase of at least £100,000 worth of corn just to lighten the situation. The timeline of the Great Hunger was a simple one, Britain tried to help using various methods, while the Irish died even more.
...And this is my family. It's been years since I've talked to them now...
