- A Syrian Trader visits the Roman Emperors daughter in Rome. When he returns to Syria, the Sultan falls in love with her without even meeting her, and wants to marry her. Cunstance is Christian and the Sultan is Muslim, so he becomes a Christian.
- Climax
- The Sultans mother was furious so during a feast she planned to have the knights killed and her son for converting into Christianity. And her plan is to send Cunstance to Northumberland on a boat.
- Falling Action
- When Cunstance arrives in Northumberland, she meets a constable and his wife. A knight realizes Custance and falls in love with her, and she does not accept his love. A little while later, the kinght kills Hermengild and leaves the knife next to Cunstance. Cunstance is now to blame.
- Resolution
- The king, Alla, grants Custance guilty but then a voice from a knight strucks him saying he was guilty. After that, Northumberland converts to Christianity and Alla, the king, ends up falling in love with Custance.
- Affer Alla and Custance get married, he gets sent to war. When he is at war Custance gives birth to a baby boy. Alla's mother who despises Custance sends him a letter saying their son is an evil creature, when replies he says that Custance and their son should be cared for. Alla's mom doesn't listen and sends Custance back to Rome.

- King Alla soon learns what his mother did to Custance and their son, and has his mother killed. Alla goes to Rome to find Custance. Soon after a senator has a feast for Alla where he sees his son, Mauricious. After the feast, Alla and Custance reunited and go back to Northumberland, where King Alla soon dies. And Mauricious becomes King of Rome.
