The Pardoner's Tale

- The story begins with 3 rioters in a tavern drinking and laughing. While joking with one another they find out that one of their friends has been killed by someone called "Death". A merciless killer who takes out anyone no matter if they are young or old, good or evil. The three conceited and ignorant men ignored the warnings they received and only saw it as a challenge so they made it their goal to defeat Death.
- While on the hunt for Death, they bumped into an old man. They began to ridicule him for how old he was and demanded to know where Death could be. Even with all the insults they threw at him, the old man looked past that and told them they can find Death by an oak tree. When they got there, they saw piles of coins and instantly forgot about their original quest to pursue Death.
- They decided to split the money between the three of them and had the youngest of them go get wine and food. But the oldest and youngest of the rioters had different plans. The oldest told the other the plan to kill the youngest so they could split it between just the two of them. The youngest on the other hand thought of poisoning the wine to take all the money for himself. In the end, they all unknowingly met Death and died because of their pride and greed.
