- In Ghana people would travel in caravans to deliver things to other people like salt and gold. Ghana had control of all the gold that was mined and if someone found gold they would give it to the leader.

- In Mali people would trade gold, salt, millet, and rice. Mansa Musa ruled Mali and he did an excellent job. He let the people have gold and riches which made Mali very rich.
