- Once upon a time, there lived a young woman and her husband, who was a shoemaker. While the young woman worked hard to help her husband, he was lazy and the shoes he made were poor quality.

- After many unsatisfied customers demanded their money back , the young woman and her husband found themselves without any money left and only enough leather for one final pair of shoes.

- Not trusting her husband to make a pair of shoes worth buying, the young woman snuck into the shop in the middle of the night and used her own skills to craft a beautiful pair of shoes.
- But where are the elves who make the shoes???
- In the morning, the shoemaker awoke to find a brand new pair of beautiful shoes waiting to be sold. Not being very smart, he assumed they had been made by elves. His wife was not impressed.
- The young woman was thrilled when her shoes sold within a few hours of opening the shop, saving them from the poor house. However, her husband was so convinced that elves had made the shoes, started to cry when his wife took credit for the work, thinking it would make the elves angry.
- Realizing her husband was a dummy, the young woman left and opened her own shoe shop, where she enjoy many years of success and happiness. Her husband, who had since gone mad with jealousy, would often be seen begging at her door, asking to see the elves.
