  • What happened?!
  • Who did this?
  • AHHHH!!!It was no-one!!He took my eye
  • The cyclops scene in my opinion shows a weakness. It shows that instead of putting his crewmates first he put himself and his pride before everyone else. He shows how selfish he is.
  • Odysseus does not want to leave his crewmates behind, he decided that he will go in there and save them and bring them home. A strength we see is courage, when times get tough and everyone is too scared to step up to the challenge
  • Cmon!! What are you doing??? Lets get out of here!!
  • ‘Kyklops, if ever mortal man inquirehow you were put to shame and blinded, tell him, Odysseus, raider of cities, took your eye:Laërtês’ son, whose home’s on Ithaka!”
  • ‘By heaven, Eur ́ylokhos, rest here then; take food and wine;stay in the black hull’s shelter. Let me go, as I see nothing for it but to go.’
  • “Not back there, O my lord! Oh, leave me here! You, even you, cannot return, I know it, I know you cannot bring away our shipmates; better make sail with these men, quickly too, and save ourselves from horror while we may.’
  • In this scene Odysseus wants to fight Skylla off but she is too powerful for him. Everyone knows that he would not be able to beat her and that she is so fierce for Odysseus. A weakness we see in Odysseus is fear. Fear of being powerless and losing.
  • Must you have battle in your heart forever? The bloody toil of combat? Old contender, will you not yield to the immortal gods? That nightmare cannot die, being eternal evil itself—horror, and pain, and chaos; there is no fighting her, no power can fight her, all that avails is flight.”
