- The story starts out on Venus. All of the kids are in school while it is raining. It has been raining for the past 7 years. The other children are happy while Margot is depressed and upset.
- Scientists inform the children and others on Venus that the sun is going to come out. The children are all anticipating and anxious to see it.
- Falling Action
- Margot explains to the other children what the sun is like which explains why she is so sad. The others do not believe that she can remember the sun and become jealous of her.
- Resolution
- The children, who are jealous of Margot, lock her in the closet because they are upset with her.
- The sun finally comes out and all the children go out to play in the little sunlight that appeared. They all left without Margot because she was still left in the closet.
- The sun had disappeared and the children went back inside. They remembered they had forgotten Margot and let her out. They were all sad and gloomy because they realized why she had loved the sun so very much.
