- Hi my name is Sally, and I am here to tell you about the 6 stages of erosion
- Rocks are worn away by acid rain or physical processes.
- The broken pieces of rocks are carried away by water, wind, ice or gravity
- Sediments (broken pieces of rock) are carried away by ice, wind, rivers and oceans
- When water is not moving fast enough to carry the rocks they settle to the bottom of the river, lake or ocean
- As layers of rock build up, the bottom layer is under more pressure until the rocks get compacted
- Dissolved materials in the water solidify and cement the rocks together.
