- Animal Cruelty is widespread in many countries in the world. It may happen inside or outside of any homes. Often reported victims of atrocities and other inhumane acts of human are dogs and cats.
- Every year, roughly 6.5 million companion animals enter shelters across the country, with 3.3 million dogs and 3.2 million cats. Approximately 1.5 million animals are euthanized each year (670,00 dogs and 860,000 cats).
- Many psychological harms can animals suffer such as rejection, terrorizing, taunting, isolating, abandonment, overpressuring, and many more.

- According to Sec. 6 of RA 10631, it shall be unlawful for any person to torture any animal, to neglect to provide adequate care, sustenance of shelter, or maltreat any animal... , kill or cause or procure to be tortured or deprived of adequate care, sustenance or shelter, or maltreat or use the same in research or experiments not expressly authorized by the Committee on Animal Welfare. Any person who violates this law shall be punished accordingly.
- Animal Cruelty is a crime. The culprit must be punished by the law and must pay for the crimes he or she committed.
