Oedipus solved the curse in Thebes and was crowned King. He then got married to his mother, or Queen Jocasta.
Your son will grow to kill his father and marry his mother and they will have two sons who will ultimately kill each other.
Once the queen and king found out about the prophecy, they were nervous and decided to get rid of the baby but didn't have the guts to kill him so they gave him to a man to kill but he couldn't either so he left him on a mountainside.
Two shepherds stumbled upon Oedipus and decided to adopt him and raise him as their own.
Once Oedipus heard about the prophecy he ran away and vowed to never go "home". On the road to Thebes, Oedipus angrily killed the men in his way, including King Laius (his birth father).
They had 4 children. Twin boys Eteocoles and Polyneices, and daughters Ismene and Antigone.
When they both learned the truth, that the prophecy was correct, the Queen hung herself and King Oedipus gouged his eyes out before being exiled.
The brothers kill each other in battle for the throne which completed the prophecy.
