- Well, because we know that bench has a depth of 16 inches, a back height of 19 inches, and the hypotenuse of the triangle formed is 27 inches, then we can use the Law of Cosines to find the angle of the recline from the base.

- Using the Law of Cosines we find that C=Cos^-1[(16^2+19^2-27^2)/2*16*14], which would make the angle of recline 100.62 degrees.
- Well no wonder it hurts my back so much! It is not a perfect 100 degree angle!

- Well I suppose it does look like the angle it is from the base of the outer pillar is a perfect 60 degrees. We can prove it through the tangent ratio because we know that it is 109 inches in height and 57 inches from the outside pillar to the middle of the music box.
