- My sign advocates for Black trans lives because the intersectional identities of Black trans people, especially women, make them vulnerable to violence. When we advocate for Black lives, we must think intersectionally.

- Intersectionality is a framework that helps us understand how people experience oppression because of their several identities. Black Lives Matter is intersectional because it amplifies the voices of queer Black women who founded the movement.
