- Romeo, upon hearing of Juliet's death from his servant, purchased poison and returned to Verona. There, he encountered and killed Count Paris, then consumed the poison himself before Juliet awoke. When Juliet saw Romeo's lifeless form beside her, she used his dagger to take her own life.
