- There once was a girl named Marissa. Her parents disliked her but admired her younger sister Jessica. They disliked her so much that when she wasn't using the bathroom or at school, she was locked in her room. She was not permitted to join any after-school clubs and could not hang out with her friends.
- Jessica had gotten yet another A- on her Algebra test. Marissa had also gotten a good grade (An A-) but her parents had yelled at her,Marissa! We expect more of you! You are in 6th grade! Bump your grade up a notch! But they had exclaimed in excitement,Great job, Jessica, honey! We'll go out to Handel's tonight and get you 3 scoops of you favoriteice cream. Marissa will get nothing.
- Mom! Dad! I got another A- on my Algebra test!!!
- Once they arrived at Handle's, Mom ordered Coffee flavored ice cream, Dad ordered one scoop of chocolate and one scoop of blue monster, and Jessica ordered 3 scoops of creamsicle. The bartender asked Marissa if she would like anything, but Mom replied with a quick and loud,No!!!
- Anything for the young lady?
- No!!!
- Once they got home, Marissa and Jessica were sent upstairs to get ready for bed. Marissa was not allowed on her computer unless it was for school, so she was forced to read. Jessica, on the other hand, was allowed on her computer any time she wanted, so she always got on YouTube right before bed and watched her daily dose of school pranks that she would attempt to do the next day at school.
- For breakfast Mom took time and made Jessica pancakes with strawberries on top. On the other hand, Mom took 2 seconds to pour some cereal into and bowl and add some milk for poor Marissa. Marissa thought Ew! but ate the cereal disdainfully anyways.
- Before getting in the car, Marissa yelled,Second row! Mom had replied withSorry Marissa. You're too young to ride in the second row. When Jessica came out, she exclaimed excitedly,Second row! Mom had responded withSure honey! You're 8 years old and old enough to make smart choices about where you sit in the car.
