Orphaned shortly after her birth, 10-year-old Jane Eyre lives at Gateshead Hall with her aunt, Mrs. Reed, and the Reed children. The Reeds dislike Jane intensely, where she was mentally and physically abused.
Climax
Jane is then sent to Lowood, a school poorly run by the cruel and overly religious Mr. Brocklehurst. She befriends Ms. Temple and Helen Burns, who become her source of strength to endure the horrible conditions there.
Falling Action
At Thornfield, Jane was hired as a governess where she meets her employer, Mr. Edward Rochester. They both fell in love. They decided to marry but Jane finds out Rochester already had a wife, Bertha. She refuses to be his mistress and flees.
Resolution
Jane flees Thornfield and finds herself on the outskirts of a remote village on the moors, left with nothing. Taken in by the Rivers siblings, she discovers about her inheritance. She receives a proposal by St. John Rivers, which she declines.
After having a vision of Rochester, Jane returns to Thornfield to discover that Bertha had burned the mansion down and died, leaving Rochester blind and disfigured.
Jane and Rochester reunite and marries. They have a baby boy together, and Mr. Rochester eventually regains sight in one of his eyes, so he was able to witness his son's presence.
