millions of sperm are released during a males ejaculation but only thousands of them enter the females body during intercourse , only the sperm cells will make it this far. once through the cervix they travel through the uterus and meet the egg in the fallopian tube .
implantation
once the egg is released it is pushed gently by little hairs on the sides called cilia they make a forwards backwards motion causing the egg to move down the tube
embryo
it is a race for the sperm cells to get to the egg cell as only one sperm cell will be able to fertilize the egg once the the sperm reach the egg they must try to break through the eggs outer layers and burrow there pointy heads in to the outside the first sperm that gets through will be the only one to fertilize the egg but if another sperm cell get through the egg will die so the egg cell releases a structure that becomes so strong no more sperm can enter
in the early stages of pregnancy the egg attaches to the womens uterus . the female cell and the male cell go together to form a gamtes that form a zygote
an embryo is the early stage of human development in wich oragns and critcal structures are formed .
