  • Brutus to the Romans: "Not that I loved Caesar less but that I loved Rome more." (pg 79, line 21)

  • Brutus to the Romans: "Had you rather Caesar were living and died all slaves?" (pg 80, line 23)
  • Don't you understand?!
  • This quote shows how Brutus really can be a horrible person. First he kills his friend and then makes it seem like nothing happened.
  • Brutus to the Romans: "And for my sake stay here with Antony, do grace to Caesar's corpse and grace his speech." (pg 81 ,line 58)
  • Please listen to Antony.
  • Here it shows that Brutus does actually care about Caesar. Brutus tries to tell the Romans that he actually did it for them. 
  • Brutus to himself: "Are yet two Romans living such as these? The last of all romans fare thee well!" (pg 121, line 98-99)
  • This evidence shows that Brutus had good intentions with Caesar's death. He tells the Romans about how the way Rome was headed when Caesar was in charge.

  • This quote shows how Brutus does have a kind side. He wants to let Antony talk about the death of Caesar to the Romans and about how this could help the Romans.
  • This shows that Brutus can be a very bad person. He acts as though he wants everyone that doesn't support him dead.

  • In this quote Brutus shows his cruel side of himself. This shows how he can be a really bad person and really do anything to get what he wants.
