  • I am a Patrician, we are 5% of the population, rich and make up most of the government.
  • The people behind the Plebeian are the women and slaves. they cannot vote, be a part of the government and have to have a male guardian. Slaves had no rights and their masters could do anything to them.
  • He is a Plebeian. they make up most of the population and are the lower and middle classes. they make up a lot of the assembly. they want more control in the government..
  • These people are from the assembly. the assembly was made up of the Roman citizens
  • There are 2 types of tribunes, a military tribune and Plebeian tribune. The military tribune commanded a legion. A Plebeian tribune was a voice in the senate that protected laws that were against the Plebeians this one is a Plebeian.
  • These are senators, I couldn't get all 300 of them since there are so many so I got 5. The senate controls areas in our lives, like tax, war and peace.
  • Magistrates are the elected officials in the Republic, they include the Consuls and occasionally the temporary dictator. They were also very respected.
  • These are the consuls, they had the most power in Rome and can say "I veto" to reject any law made by the other consul. they ran the army, and were the heads of foreign affairs.
  • After the Plebs came back, reforms were made. the Plebeians could vote tribunes, people who sit in the senate and could veto laws that affect the plebeians. later on they could also be one of the consuls. they could also pass legislation.
  • Did you know? Power shifted in Rome. Originally when the Romans fought for their independence from the Etruscans, power shifted from the monarchs to the Patricians in Rome. Then, when the Plebs left, the power shifted AGAIN to make it more even for the Plebeians.
  • Another reform made was the 12 tables. they were written down on the middle of Rome for everyone to see. Before the Patricians were changing the laws whenever it benefited them. Now the laws could not be changed since they were written down. The 12 tables covered aspects of Roman life, from Birth to Crimes.
  • The republic changed when the patricians got their independence from the Etruscans. Rome from there went from a monarchy to a republic. The city changed again to an even more democratic state when the Plebs came back.
