- Grendel's terror has lasted 12 years and started to travel across the sea to the Geats and their grand warrior Beowulf. Beowulf travels to Hrothgar to help rid them of Grendel. When Beowulf and his men arrive they are questioned by a guard but then are brought up to see Hrothgar. Beowulf boasts about why he should kill Grendel and he and Hrothgar come to an agreement.
- The Battle with Grendel's Mother
- Beowulf and Hrothgar set a trap to kill Grendel. Grendel falls for the trap and sneaks into Herot to kill soldiers once again and he does end up killing one of them before he sets his eyes on Beowulf.
