- For just one day, Phaethon pleaded for permission to pilot the sun's chariot through the skies. As required by his pledge, Helios was forced to permit him to try. The solar chariot's horses approached the ground too closely and started to roast it because Phaethon was completely unable to control them as they moved forward.
- Phaethon and his friend Epaphus were racing each other, Phaethon's victory over Epaphus upset him dearily.
- You may have won me in race phaeton, but my dad is far superior than yours. He's Zeus, lord of the sky and god of thunder!
- Oh yeah, well my dad is Apollo!, god of the Sun, and he lets me ride his chariot!,can you say the same Epaphus?.
- How am I to prove Epaphus wrong if I have never met my father..
- Phaethon went to his father's sun castle, where his father had promised to grant him anything he wanted.
- Father may I ride your chariot of the sun?.
- But Father, you promised me you would give me anything I wanted if I had asked you,
- What?! No way!I would never allow you to do that phaeton.
- After their discussion of the chariot, Apollo showed Phaethon to the horses and warned him...
- Thank you Father!
- A promise is a promise; whatever you do don't fly too close to the Earth.
- Phaethon did not listen to his father Helios and went down close to Earth...
- Whoohoo! Now I have to go show Epaphus how I'm riding the chariot!
- He accidentally burned his home town, catching Zues's attention, and Zeus then threw an electric bolt that killed Phaethon!
