- Intro to my topic
- Architects presented the world with a new aesthetic that highlighted the possibilities and benefits of new materials and construction technologies. The emergence of new materials and the pioneers of Modernism, such as the Bauhaus scholars, Le Corbusier, and Vladimir Shukhov, made possible early avant-garde advances. However, the ideals of mainstream Modernism were too radical to appeal to a broad audience. The interwar Art Deco style was thrilling, features of the machine age. With graphic decorative motifs and modern, eye-catching materials, it appealed to a more influential group of individuals on an emotional level.
