In the year 2017 my dad asked me if I wanted to join the Charles Gracie Jujitsu academy in town. I said yes and we arranged a meet and greet. We also discussed if it would affect my grades. Jujitsu seemed like a fun and scary experience to me.
Pain and injuries
For the first month, I was a bit scared and shy. I went on different days of the week so there were always new people. After a few practices, I felt a little more comfortable and was actually having fun.
New belt
This is so cool!
A little bit after, I made some friends while in a sparring match with them. They were very nice to me and I became more open and social. I made many friends while I was there and I'm glad I did. Otherwise, I would have been lonely.
My goodbye
I'm sorry I can't stay.
We'll miss you girly
Since I was 10 at the time, I was still very sensitive. When facing bigger opponents, I would often get kicked in the face or punched. After excusing myself to the bathroom, I would sit there and cry until I'm ready to go back.
OW WHY DOES IT HURT SO MUCH.
After completing one year of training, I received my yellow belt. You always have to earn 4 stripes before moving on to the next belt level. Before receiving it, I had to Spar with other kids. My belt color also depended on my age.
Congrats to you guys and your new belts!
Around a month after the ceremony in 2018, I decided to quit and focus on school. My friends were sad but I promised I would see them again. I really enjoyed this experience and I hope I can go back soon.
