Hi I am Janet Iwasa and I am a cell biologist! I love viewing the natural world at a smaller scale!
I am a scientist and I love viewing the natural world it does not need to be at a smaller scale...
That is a great question! We can actually conduct experiments in order to find out different characteristics about the cell, like what proteins the molecules might interact with.
Molecules can not be seen by the naked eye. They also can not be seen through a microscope sometimes.
Then how can you see molecules?
Studying different cells, like the immune cells which is in all of our bodies allows us to learn even more about our body functions and the functions and interactcitions the molecule has with other molecules. This molecule finds and gets rid of pathogenic bacteria through a protein called actin
Did you know that without molecular animations, it is very likely that we would not know about all of the functions that actin has. Actin is very essential for the body to function because it is a protein that shapes our cytoskeleton, gets rid of bacteria, and it allows us to flex and contact our muscles. Actin also creates structures that create mobility in cells
Wow I did not know that. That is so cool!
Without the animations that I create, different scientists and other students would not be able to get as clear a picture as just telling someone about my discoveries. My animations shows a clear picture on how microtubles is where differentt orgenelles are carried along. Each step that I show in my animations is vital in the overall picture on how these parts of the cell function.
The advancment of technology overtime has allowed animators like me to have more access to new resources and materials that allow me to succeed in my work. Although scientists and I are not even close to discovering all the functions of molecules, these animations allow us in the present and will allow us in the future to come close to discovering many more functions for cells and molecules in the future.
I am very inspired by your work!!
