  • Patroclus was 9 when his father took him to propose to the fairest woman in the world, Helen. He did not get the marriage, instead he vowed to protect her like all the other suitors. Now, a year later, he has been banished from his kingdom after murdering someone's son.
  • YOU USELESS BOY!
  • His father sent him where all other exiles are sent, to king Peleus' palace. There, the boys trained daily to become soldiers. All the boys sought recognition from the prince, Achilles. Patroclus could care less - Until the prince spoke to him directly, that is.
  • You are not ill, what will your excuse be?
  • I have been looking for you. You have not been going to morning drills. I have come to see if you are ill.
  • Patroclus achieved what the other boys could not. He was made Achilles's companion. His Therapon.
  • Take me to your lessons, tell your father that is where I have been. 
  • When they were 13, Achilles was sent to be trained by the immortal centaur Chiron, trainer of many great heroes. Achilles' mother, the sea-nymph Thetis, had great plans for her son. These plans did not involve Patroclus, but that did not stop him from coming along.
  • You will ride on my back. I do not usually offer such things on first acquaintance. But exceptions must be made.
  • They spent 3 years with Chiron, who taught them a lot of useful stuff. But then Helen was kidnapped by the Trojan prince Paris. Achilles was meant to fight in the war, but Thetis would have none of it. She sent him into hiding, and soon Patroclus found him. Then Odysseus and his friend Diomedes found them, and before they could stop to take a breath, they were on a ship on their way to war. There was a prophecy that spoke of Achilles' death after a man by the name Hector perished.
  • You must not kill Hector.
  • Well, why should I kill him? He's done nothing to me.
  • After a decade of endless war, Achilles got mad at king Agamemnon, and refused to fight. This was a huge disadvantage for the Greeks, so as to not watch more of his friends die, Patroclus dressed up as Achilles and led their men to battle.
  • DAMN YOU, HECTOR!
  • Achilles got his revenge by killing Hector, but was killed shortly after by Paris.
  • In the Underworld, the two lovers reunite.
