- Hey, My name's Mavis, I'm a enslaved African American. I live and work on a plantation farm located in the mid Atlantic, Maryland.
- Everyday I harvest the cotton for 8 hours and show my plantation owner. My plantation owner, Is always in her big mansion.
- This is my plantations owners home. I'm not aloud to go out here often. In fact, they think I'm in the cotton field right now
- Every morning I hear my plantation owner telling her kids to get ready for school. I sometimes with I was able to get education. Since my Mother was a slave when I was born, I had no choice but to be one.

- A night I like to think about ever being freed. I like to think about what id do if I was.

- And that's all! I'm now able to fight for my right to be a free enslaved African American.
