1) 1939 Young Black girl sneaks out of house.(LS) 2) 1939 Young Black girl falls to her knees silently screaming looking out in the distance, then faints.(MS) 3) 1992 Nia is speaking at podium for graduation.(CU) 4) Nia and two friends move their tassels from right to left.(MS) 5) Aunt Lula Mae greets Nia as Kenny looks on.(MLS) 6) Aunt Lula Mae shows Nia pictures of the family including her grandfather.(MS) 7) Nia creeps through dark room of abandoned house with flashlight.(MS) 8) Nia finds a picture of a lynching, in shock drops the picture.(FS) 9) Nia thanks Kenny for going in the house with her, he suggests everyone can forget about it when she gets back on road the next day.(MS) 10) Nia goes to the library to see if she can find any information about the lynching.(MLS) 11) Nia sits at library table covered with newspapers and other periodicals.(MS) 12) Nia goes to one of the people in the photo, Wilson Reed's office and asks him if he knows anything about a crime in 1939.(MS) 13) Wilson Reed comes to see Nia at Aunt Lula Mae's and tells her he does know about a lynching in 1939 that happened because he was there.(MS) 14) 1939 Pa Homer and other men gather to defend his family. (ECU, MS) 15) Nia and Kenny walk through beautiful land and talk about why Kenny stays, and why Nia is so determined to find the people in the photo.(MS) 16) Nia explains to Kenny why it is so important to get closure for her family.(CU) 17) Nia asks Wilson Reed for help in finding the people in the photo.(MS) 18) Nia is being followed while she is walking through the woods.(LS) 19) Nia comes out of woods to find her car tires slashed.(MS) 20) Nia is dragged through the woods by her sweatshirt hood by someone she cannot see.(LS) 21) Nia is in car with Wilson Reed when Kenny crashes into car, car screech, Nia screams, gun shots goes black.(LS) 22) 1939 Young Black comes to and looks silently in the distance.(MS) 23) 1939 Young Black girl gasps as two big arms reach down and scoop her up.(MS) 24) Screen goes black--crickets chirp
