- Neotropical rain frogs are preyed upon by rear-fanged snakes. Their relationship is predator and play.
- Brazil nut trees are dependent on several animal species for their survival. The tree relies on the agouti the agouti is the only animal with teeth strong enough to open their seed pods. While the agouti eats some of the Brazil nut's seeds, it also scatters the seeds across the forest. This is an example of mutualism
- In the tropical rainforest, big cats such as tigers, jaguars and leopards all compete for food
