- Step 1: Ordinary WorldOrpheus and Eurydice are married and are living in Thrace, Greece. They love each other very much.
- OH, NO!!!
- Step 2: Call to AdventureEurydice dies due to a snake bite. Her spirit is sent to live in the Underworld.
- Oh, Eurydice! Come back!
- Step 3: Refusal of the CallOrpheus mourns the death of his wife. However, the thought of going to the Underworld to fetch her has not occurred to him yet.
- What should I do?
- Okay!
- Go to the Underworld, confront Hades, and retrieve Eurydice!
- Step 4: Meeting the MentorOrpheus is conflicted about whether or not he should go to the Underworld to retrieve Eurydice, so he goes to the gods for advice.
- Step 5: Crossing the ThresholdOrpheus travels to the Underworld, crosses the River Styx, and goes through the Gates of Hell, guarded by Cerberus.
- Step 6: Tests, Allies, EnemiesAlong his way to find Hades, Orpheus comes across many dangerous beasts. However, he calms them by playing his lyre.
