- The lady who works at the orphanage tells Bud and Jerry that they are each going into a foster home. She tells them to hurry and pack up since they'll be leaving soon.
- Chapter 10
- Bud comforts Jerry since he was crying since he will be staying with two little girls. He is able to calm Jerry down and assure him he will be okay.
- Chapter 14
- The Amos's make bud sleep in their shed since Bud hit Tod. Bud gets scared and eventually tries to break out through the window.
- Chapter 15
- Lefty Lewis see's bud on the side of the road and is able to convince bud to let him take Bud to his father. Bud eventually agree's and gets in the car with Lewis.
- Bud visits The Sweet Pea with Herman and the rest of the band. He realizes that he finally feels like he's found were he belongs and starts crying. Mrs.Thomas comforts him as he cries.
- After a while of hanging out at The Sweet Pea Bud and the rest of the band head home. Bud gets to the the grand Calloway station. They lend him a little girls room.
