- Welcome! Today in human studies we will be learning how real humans will develop as the grow up. The way they grow up and develop is much different from our kind and when we finally visit them it will be important we understand this. There are 4 stages. Sensorimotor, Preoperational, Concrete Operational and Formal Operational.
- The first stage begins at birth and lasts until the baby is around 2 years old. In the sensorimotor stage, babies rely on seeing, sucking, feeling and using senses to learn things about themselves.The first stage begins at birth and lasts until the baby is around 2 years old. - Here we have a child who is 2-7 years of age in human years. This child is in the Preoperational Stage.In this stage this baby will begin to speak, pay and use their imagination. They will also begin to use symbols to represent words/images.
- The third stage is called concrete operational stage. Children are usually 7-11 in human years. In this stage children will begin to have more sense of self and understanding of emotions. They will also begin to understand how things actually work and use logical thinking.
- The fourth stage is called Formal operational.This stage usually begins at age 12 and continues into adulthood. In this stage humans usually gain the ability to think abstract outside of the box thoughts inside of their heads. This is the stage you guys would be in if you were growing human children!
