  • How Rogers sees me
  • BROADWAY
  • Sigmund Freud developed the ID, Superego, and the Ego. The ID is like the devil sitting on your shoulder, the superego is like the angel sitting on your shoulder, and the ego is the controller or the reality principle. You personality is dependent on the balance of these three ideas. Math is my ID, science is my superego, and English is my ego.
  • How Costa & McCrae see me
  • Hey! We are working together on this project, we can split up the work to make it fair.
  • Yeah, that works for me! I trust you to split it up evenly and get your work done.
  • Alfred Adler developed the birth order theory. He believed that the first born child was the perfectionist and the rule follower, the middle child was funny and outgoing, and the last born was the peace keeper. Birth order can affect personality within families. This is shown by the halo, the boy laughing, and the peace sign.
  • How Eysenck sees me
  • Honey, what's wrong?
  • NOTHING MOM! I'M FINE
  • Carl Rogers developed the ideas that we have a real self and an ideal self. Your real self if who you are and you ideal self is who you aspire to be. These views of ourselves can have many impacts on our personality. In the scene above, I demonstrated this with my future profession. My real self is going to be a physical therapist, but my ideal self would love to be a Broadway dancer in NYC.
  • How Bandura sees me
  • Paul Costa and Robert McCrae developed the Big 5 Personality Traits which are openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism, or OCEAN. They believe that all people have these general traits in their personality. In the scene above, my friend Emma and I are working on a project together and we are demonstrating agreeableness by collaborating and trusting each other.
  • Hans Eysenck developed the Factor Analysis theory which includes two dimensions--introvert vs. extrovert and emotional stability vs. instability. He believes that we are on one side of both dimensions and that that influences our personality. In the scene above, I am an unstable introvert, which when combined, shows that I'm moody.
  • Robert Bandura developed some Social Cognitive Theories. One theory that he didn't develop, but still falls under this category is the spotlight effect, which is assuming that people have attention focused on you when they actually don't. In the scene above, I think that everyone is focused on the stain on my shirt, but they are actually not looking at all.
