  • What this chapter is saying is the Nazi’s came looking for the Rosens. The Nazi’s figured since they were neighbors they would see if the Johanssons knew of anything. They ended up seeing Ellen’s dark hair and the Johanssons are all blond. So, the Nazi’s asked if they got Ellen from the Rosens.
  • So where did you get the dark haired ones perhaps the milk man?
  • So you have two blond haired daughters, and one dark haired?
  • Maybe you got her someplace else. Maybe the Roses?

  • In chapter 6 the Johanssons were scared that Ellen was going to get caught with them so they sent the girls to Uncle Henrik but on the train ride there they ran into Nazi’s that had questions.
