  • COYOTE MEETS BADGER
  • COYOTE MEETS WOODPECKER
  • COYOTE MEETS SNAKE
  • This is the story of Coyote the trickster! Coyote was always bright blue. He was following his nose through the Southwest but he had a nose for trouble!
  • COYOTE MEETS CROW
  • First, Coyote meets Badger. Sticking his nose into Badger's hole gets his nose bitten!
  • COYOTE WISHES HE COULD FLY
  • Next, Coyote finds Woodpecker. He wishes he could also have a bright red head like flames. Instead, his hair caught on fire!
  • COYOTE FALLS!
  • Then, Coyote comes across Snake. But that only gets him into more trouble! It seemed that Coyote was always in trouble.
  • COYOTE STILL HAS A NOSE FOR TROUBLE
  • Finally, Coyote comes to a place very high up where it looks like the Earth is touching the sky! He sees birds flying through the air across the great canyon.
  • Coyote wanted to fly and he asked Old Man Crow if he could. Crow thought he would have a little fun with silly Coyote. He told the other crows to stick their feathers all over Coyote and told him he was ready to fly!
  • Coyote tried to fly like the Crows but he couldn't. He fell so far and so fast that when he landed his tail caught on fire! Coyote heard the crows laughing as they flew away.
  • Coyote was left covered with dust and that is why to this day he is the color of dust and his tail has a burnt, black tip. Even to this day, Coyote still has a nose for trouble.
