She fell down one single stair once, and broke her leg. To her that was proof even a single stair could present peril. When I would approach even a single stair she would call out "be careful!"
"Oh Katie,Kate, for spacious skies, for Katie Katie Kate."
"Katie wet herself!"
"Katie wet herself!"
"Katie wet herself!"
The mother is a very delicate, and rare person. She is so delicate that her bones can brake way to easily. In the book it is also said that if you barely bump her she will get a bruise. Although she is delicate the mother is also strict and firm.
"Indians stay in the back room." "Mexicans too."
The uncle is a very different person then compared to Lynn, and Katie's father. In the car he talked and talked, and when the girls started crying again he started singing. He is also a very strong and tall guy. He has a big personality and does not take losing well.
When Katie had stepped out of the car everyone had started laughing and saying Katie wet herself! Except for her dad which he was still laughing but stood there watching Katie. The book states "My father looked proud of me. He was proud of us no matter what we did." No matter what they did the father was always proud, he is also very mild.
I chose this scene because it shows how bold and descriptive she is. Katie is always saying whats on her mind. Katie is never looking for trouble with trying to correct someone, or standing up for herself. Katie is a sensitive girl though.
"Were not Indians." "Were not Mexicans either."
Lynn was the one getting attacked by the dog. But Katie was more scared for Lynn. That is because Lynn saw that there was glass shattered everywhere around the dog. She cared to make sure the dog wouldn't get hurt. While Katie just wanted Lynn to be safe.
