- A way teacher can help parents share their voice is to provide surveys about classroom instruction so parents can give their input through the survey. The survey should also be given in the language the parents/guardian speak.
- To Parents
- Please fill out the survey attached to this email. The last part of the survey is for parents/guardians to write about any concerns they have.
- Parent Teacher Conference is a very common meeting that occurs twice a school year. So there should be other meetings/events where the school provides parents a list of different organizations like Share The Voice and have parents who have participated in an organization talk about how their organization helped them. This will help parents also talk to each other and meet other parents. The school could also offer assistance to parents to help them fill out the surveys needed for the organizations.
- Gina's Mom said that we have to "think outside the box" so maybe having parents come observe their children at school could be a good way to involve parents because parents may now more than their teachers and could help teachers find other ways to motivate their child. Or parents could learn new strategies or methods teachers use and apply it at home.

- I really enjoyed reading Niki's story about her daughter, Gina because it is helped me learn what SLOS means and how she was able to give her a daughter a good life and see the positive things about Gina rather than a burden like doctors have told her. I could imagine other parents reading her story and also feel inspire to tell their own or see things through a different lens.
- So creating a school blog could be beneficial for parents to share their own story and read other stories. Parents could also share about different organizations or apps they have used and helped. There should also be an option where parents could email each other and contact parents to learn more.

- Overall, I think it is important to keep in mind that all we do as teachers and parents/guardians is for the better of our children/students. Parents and teachers working together creates a better bond with the child.
