  • Look at how pretty the sunset is. Can't wait to be watching it every day of the summer!
  • Little did I know, things were about to change drastically. A new disease was discovered in a small town in China, Wuhan. The disease was known as Coronavirus and it was starting to spread rapidly and across the world. With this new disease entering our world, the US and many other countries closed schools until further notice.
  • This spring break has been so much fun! I really don't want to go back to school
  • Did you guys see the email the district just sent out. Apparently they are closing all schools until further notice because of Coronavirus! 
  • This was the end of spring break in 2020. During this time life was rather simple, nothing was really changing drastically for me. I was 16 at the time and in my sophomore year of high school.
  • Every spring break my family and friends would vacation in Islamorada, Florida. We would kick back and relax while enjoying the week off from school and work.
  • Later that night we discussed how we were going to approach Coronavirus since it was starting to multiply in size and spread globally.
  • You realize we may not get to see a lot of our friends in school for a long time. 
  • I researched it last night and it is said to be more detrimental to the elder population. So we should be fine right?
  • I honestly think that this disease is stupid and that our country is just overreacting.
  • Well actually I think I am going to take this seriously. We are just as prone to infection as anyone else.
  • I wanted to talk to you kids about this virus going around. All I want to say is for you kids to take precautions and wear a mask when going to public places.You will only have to wear the mask until some further research is conducted on the virus.
  • I really started to build up anger when our government posted a nationwide lockdown, otherwise known as "quarantine" according to the CDC.
  • YOU ARE NOW IN A MANDATORY STATE LOCKDOWN...PLEASE REMAIN AT HOME UNLESS NECESSARY TO LEAVE
  • As days progressed to weeks, things escalated. Public places, like movie theaters, were closing. There was even a "social distancing" thing implemented where we had to stand 6 feet apart from eachother.

  • This is stupid. My sophomore year of high school is ruined! What am I supposed to do, just sit here all day?!
  • When the presidential election came around, things went to hell. And fast. Not only was our nation so unseparated. But with the pandemic, our economy, and everything else happening - now was not the time for an election.

  • Going into my junior year of high school, we had the option to finally go back into "in-person" school, or continue online schooling. I myself, along with my siblings enrolled back into "in-person" school expecting a lot of kids to be back on campus. It was the exact opposite. Our campus was scarce.
  • WELCOME BACK STUDENTS OF NAPLES HIGH SCHOOL!
  • Wow, there is like no one here this year.
  • And just as I thought things were taking a turn for the better this happened. A MASK MANDATE!
  • I'm not wearing that stupid shit!
  • SAME HERE!
  • UNTIL A VACCINE IS PRODUCED AND RELEASED EVERYONE CAPABLE OF WEARING A MASKS CDC CERTIFIED IS REQUIRED TO WEAR ONE.
  • What the hell is this. THIS IS A FREE COUNTRY. OUR BODY OUR CHOICE!
  • What I truly missed most of all during this pandemic was seeing and connecting with a lot of my friends in school. When schools shut down and all the chaos started a lot of my in-school friends and I lost touch.
  • The hospitals were flooded with COVID patients, mostly consisting of the elderly.
  • Part of the COVID dying patients of course was my grandmother.
  • Most of these elderly were dying since there wasn't a vaccine yet in place.

  • And as if the government and society couldn't get any worse, they took full control and advantage of the pandemic.
  • The media and government completely altered and changed the facts to lies.

  • I started to think to myself about how bad this so "Coronavirus" could be if it continued to spread and kept me from seeing my friends.
  • So I started to do my own research about the virus before discussing it with my family.
  • I also discussed it separately with my friends to gather their opinions. This is where I began to see a separation in opinions. 
  • 
  • Many small businesses shut down as well, leaving thousands of people unemployed.

  • Hospitals were flooded with Coronavirus patients.
  • When all the votes were coming in and being tallied, many republicans, including myself, believed there to be fraud. In Fact there was fraud and some of it was caught on camera; but simply not enough.
  • Then the next thing you know, Biden won the election. And for the past 5 months, our nation has seen the negative outcomes of it.
  • 
  • Although it wasn't exactly what I wished for, it could have been worse.
  • After just a week of the mask mandate, I was starting to break out with acne all over. So was every other teenager my age. Everyone was sick of this Coronavirus. It was a challenge to even appear in public with so much acne and rashes on my face. It really demoted my confidence.
  • Thankfully our technology was very advanced and I was able to facetime most of my friends to check in with them and stay in touch. This would often comfort me when I would get lonely staying at home with my family 24/7. 
  • TOILET PAPER - SOLD OUT
  • At one point in time there was even a Toilet Paper Shortage!
