  • Acrisius, King of Argos , asked an oracle whether he would ever have children. The answer from the oracle make him lived a life of fear and anxiety. One of his daughters will bear him a son who would murder him in the end.
  • SET ADRIFT THE SEA
  • King Acrisius imprisoned his daughter Danae in a cave with brass walls because of his fear
  • SERIPHOS
  • Nonetheless, Zeus, who had an eye for beauty and a way with women with which few dared to compete, had already seen the lovely maiden. He transformed into a golden shower of rain and entered the cave where Danae was imprisoned. Danae gave birth to a baby boy via their connection, which she kept a secret for a while.
  • PERSEUS GREW UP
  • King Acrisius remorse prevented him from murdering his grandchild. He made up his decision, desperate for a solution that didn't endanger his life. It was then that he had a wooden ark constructed for his daughter and grandson, and ordered them to be put in it and sent out to sea.
  • The wooden ark eventually washed ashore on Seriphos. It was discovered by Dictes, a fisherman and Polydectes' brother. He welcomed Perseus and his mother into his house.
  • Perseus grew into a powerful and courageous man endowed with many skills at this period, probably as a consequence of divine favor. Polydectes, on the other hand, fell in love with Danae, and Perseus, in order to protect her, put his mother under constant surveillance.
