- How many fish do we need to catch today to feed the village?

- Why are we going on this boat? Will we ever see our parents again?
- Peter and Phil are busy fishing for their families for dinner.Fishing is one way to provide food for their village. In the distance they see two men coming in a black car. They are wondering who they might be.
- Only speak English here, none of your local gibberish tongue. Dinner is at 5pm sharp.
- Where are we? Is this our new home?
- Those men look gruff and scarey. They inform the boys that they can not stay at their village because their parents can't look after them.
- I was so worried that I might never be found!
- Paul, I'm so happy you're okay. That was so scary!
- Peter and Phil are taken from their home. They are put on a boat and taken to a mission for half caste Indigenous boys. The men explain that this will be beneficial as they will learn English and get an education so they can have a well paying job.
- Best friends forever. Thank goodness we are safe.
- Peter and Phil arrive at their destination and wonder how far away they are from home, as they both fell asleep on the boat. The men hand them over to a clergyman who takes them to a room where they are processed. They are afraid, crying and missing their parents. They don't understand why they have been taken and feel
- Not long after, the captain on the boat spotted Paul on the island and drove the boat quickly to rescue him. The boys were relieved to be together and safe.
- The boys were happy to be home. They had an exciting and scary adventure that had a happy ending thanks to the resourceful captain, John who called for help right away and Paul who didn't give up hope.
