  • There are two types of Metamorphic Rocks. Foliated and Non-Foliated. Foliated have bands and have lots of pressure but low heat to make them. Non-Foliated don have bands and form under low pressure and high heat. Metamorphic rocks are formed from heat and pressure in mountains and underground. Metamorphic rocks can be formed from sedimentary rocks or igneous rocks.
  • There is a third type of rock, Igneous rock. I think igneous rock is the most interesting. There are also two types of igneous rocks extrusive and intrusive. Igneous rocks form from magma below or above the earth's surface. The magma begins as lava. When the lava erupts out of the volcano it has movement down the volcano then it begins cooling to become magma to become an extrusive igneous rock but if the lava cools underground its an intrusive igneous rock. An igneous rock could start heating again and turn back into magma.
  • Thank You for telling me this Dr. Urcle. I'm ready for this test Friday
  • Also, any rock can go through weathering and erosion and become sediment
  • No Problem, Good luck on your test
