- Doctor John Watson steps into the home of Sherlock Holmes and finds him deep in conversation with a man with blazing red hair named Jabez Wilson who has an assistant named Vincent Spaulding.
- Climax
- Jabez Wilson has a strange case where he joins the League of Red-Headed Men on the suggestion of Vincent Spaulding only for it to be dissolved eight weeks later.
- Falling Action
- Watson accompanies Holmes to a concert and Holmes cracks the case after the concert. He sets a trap with a Scotland Yard detective and a bank manager which involves them waiting for an hour in the bank's cellar. One hour later, a light shines through a crack in the cellar floor and two men appear.
- Resolution
- The trap is sprung and Holmes manages to catch a criminal named John Clay, who is also known as Vincent Spaulding while the other man escapes through the crack in the floor.
- The bank robbery is stopped.
- Holmes explains to Watson how he manages to solve the case.
