  • Children in Sparta train for 12 years starting at the age of 7 to become fierce Spartans. Here children were training when a familiar face showed up.
  • The King of Athens, Pericles was in danger along with the rest of Greece. Athens helped the Ionians revolt against the Persians, so they would become free.
  • Leonidas spoke to the Oracle who said in a riddle that he had to sacrifice himself to save Greece so Leonidas lead 300 spartans to battle at Thermopylae.
  • Leonidas lead over 300 spartans to the battlefield but lost Leonidas and the battle then the Persians continued to Athens and eventually burned it.
  • Before the Persians arrived at Athens, the Athenians fled to Salamis to defend themselves. King Leonidas died a hero but he did in fact sacrifice himself to hopefully save Greece.
  • After two more battles Athens won and the Persians fled so in the end Leonidas did save Greece... along with every other Greek who helped too.
